The Cleveland Guardians secured a decisive 9‑3 victory over the Chicago White Sox, a win that kept them alive in the American League Central race and avoided a potential elimination scenario. The game was highlighted by powerful performances from Jo Adell and José Ramírez, who combined for five runs and seven RBIs. Adell delivered a two‑run homer and a single in the first inning, setting the tone for the Guardians, while Ramirez followed with a solo shot and a clutch RBI that capped a three‑run rally in the fifth.nnThe win was a critical moment in a tightly contested series, as the Guardians have been battling for the division lead against the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers. By shutting out the Sox in the later innings, Cleveland demonstrated their ability to maintain momentum after a shaky start, reinforcing their status as a playoff contender. The victory also kept their pitching staff’s confidence high, as the bullpen was able to preserve a lead that had been narrowed early in the game.nnBeyond the immediate series implications, the game underscored the Guardians’ resilience and depth. With Adell’s and Ramirez’s offensive bursts, the team’s lineup proved capable of delivering under pressure, a trait that will be vital as they push for postseason qualification. The win not only extended their winning streak but also sent a clear message to rivals that Cleveland is still a formidable force in the AL Central.

South Korea says AI agents appear to have been used to hack the country's banks
South Korean authorities announced that a series of recent cyber intrusions into the nation’s banking sector were carried out with the help of advanced artificial‑intelligence agents. The attacks, which began in early March, targeted three major banks, compromising customer accounts and siphoning small amounts of funds before the breaches were detected. Investigators say the AI systems were used to automate the reconnaissance phase, identify vulnerable points in the banks’ networks, and deploy malware that could adapt to defensive measures in real time.nnThe technical analysis revealed that the attackers employed machine‑learning algorithms to generate highly realistic phishing emails, increasing the success rate of credential theft. Once inside, the AI‑driven malware scanned for transaction authorization codes and exploited zero‑day vulnerabilities in the banks’ core banking software. The rapid, self‑learning nature of the attacks allowed the perpetrators to evade traditional security tools and reduce the window of exposure to just a few hours.nnIn response, the Korean Financial Services Commission has launched a joint investigation with the National Police Agency and the Cyber Security Center. The agencies are reviewing the banks’ incident‑response protocols, strengthening multi‑

‘Quiz From God’: Japanese Remake of CJ ENM K-Drama, Starring Mamiya Shotaro, Sets Global Prime Video Launch (EXCLUSIVE)
‘Quiz From God’: Japanese Remake of CJ ENM K-Drama, Starring Mamiya Shotaro, Sets Global Prime Video Launch (EXCLUSIVE)

Prime Video
Mamiya Shotaro leads a Japanese remake of CJ ENM‘s Korean hit drama “Quiz From God,” which will stream exclusively on Prime Video from Dec. 4.
The Prime Original series casts Mamiya as Hatsushima Haruto, a neurosurgeon turned forensic pathologist whose brilliance has earned him a reputation as a heaven-sent genius.
Having quit neurosurgery for reasons that remain unexplained, Haruto now works at the National Forensic Autopsy Center, where he reads the clues the dead leave behind. The cases that land on his table are among Tokyo’s strangest: a divisive underground idol who dies during a performance, a young man who ends up dead after accepting illegal side work, and someone who dies without warning on a first date.
Each investigation leads Haruto to uncommon diseases concealed behind deaths that at first seem to defy explanation, and to the social problems that sit beneath them.
Popular on Variety
Haruto has a puzzle of his own to solve. He lives with a rare illness and never knows how much longer his body will hold up. A secret buried in his past could also turn everything on its head.
The Korean original, fronted by Ryu Deok-hwan, was a major success at home and got viewers talking. It went on to run for five seasons. The Japanese version keeps the elements that made the original popular while giving the story a new setting, a different mood and its own point of view.
Mamiya said his manager had first floated the idea of him starring in the drama more than a decade ago, when he was in his early 20s, prompting him to seek out the Korean series. “After many twists and turns, the project finally began moving forward last autumn, and before I knew it, we were already filming,” he said.
“I’m especially happy that we were able to bring this project to life with the three producers, all of whom have known me well for many years,” Mamiya added. “This was my first time working with the director, but we were able to build a relationship of trust through our meetings, script readings, and filming. I hope you enjoy watching the drama.”
