Stick when catch and shoot or post fade. Button from anyplace in close. Works for MT 2K21 me but it took a little practice. Isn't it harder to select your layup if you utilize button? I have always fought with these controls and utilized stick for layups. I swear I feel like I have wasted $149 (Aussie dollars). I'd really like to be shooting 40% but I'm lucky if I can hit 20%. I only play offline. I know we've scrub players at this time, and I am a below average player but seriously even layups which are in the center of the meter aren't going in. I don't even dare to try out a jump shooter. The AI appears to be ridiculous levels as well. I know they wish to reward skill in 2k21 however this kind of stuff is going to truly put off casual gamers and those new the 2K franchise and also brand new to basketball games.
I have been playing since 2K13 but I've never been that good of a participant. I would say I'm average, but I know I shouldn't be missing all these 3s. My starter players have never played this bad in 2k16,17,18,19 and 20. The only other 2K I played with before 2K20 was 2K13 and which was on PC. I improved a hell of a lot in 2K20 to the point where I really could go as large as Superstar without using STS. But this is a completely different level using a completely different mechanic. I did ok in the demo and in the quickgames using the new shooting meter but can't hit the side of a barn .
Simply played the demo, however, the stick was a great deal more dependable than button for me. I have been a button man too. . Mostly wide open shots... and this was on allstar not even thinking to go from the rec center. . Genuinely shooting 2/16 in an offline triple hazard game on only layups and 1 open jumpshot which airballed on marginally early. Spent $100 for this bullshit lmao. Person that the shooting is extra fine right now but that I would recommend shot time like look for the que about the cartoon.
Yep I'm having trouble with it as well. Started a match on My team going 0/12 overlooking open 3s and Buy NBA 2K21 MT midrange shots all over the area. I'm all for them toning down shots being nearly automatic but the system looks just a little bit too unforgiving so far. Hopefully will start to get better after a couple more matches of becoming used to it. The game just came out and we have ta brand new meter with slightly different timing.
